Soul Surfing Maui invites you to try the sport that was once the favorite pastime of Polynesian Kings–Surfing!

Brian DeCook is owner and head coach at Soul Surfing Maui and truly loves what he does for a living. His competent instruction staff is comprised of four skilled coaches who are all close friends, accomplished surfers and very knowledgeable in Hawaiian waters. All SSM instructors are First Aid/CPR certified by Red Cross, and have successfully completed the 'Maui Life Guard Training' course .
Soul Surfing Maui runs classes at the best beginner surf spots on the island. The optimum surf conditions here, combined with Soul Surfing’s elite instruction methods, make learning to surf fun, easy and quite possibly will be the highlight of your vacation. Brian and his staff have a genuine interest in seeing you succeed, and if for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied with their program–its on Brian!

Your class begins by being fitted for your booties, rash guard, wet suit, and the appropriate beginner foam long board. Next, your instructor will take you through a 20 minute land orientation where you will learn about wave selection, paddling, "popping-up", how to turn, how to dismount, water safety and crowd etiquette. Once this is accomplished, your instructor will lead you out into the easy rollers and coach you into your first waves. With a little help picking out the right waves, and an occasional push-in from your coach, you will be up and surfing in no time. This is surfing made easy folks! Having the right coach, the right board, and the right spot is all it takes to get you started and stoked on SURFING. It doesn't matter if you’re 5 or 75, this is your chance to learn!

First wave in paradise	FACTS & INFO Location: Soul Surfing Maui is holding lessons at various South Maui beaches just minutes south of Lahaina Town. These beginner locations feature gentle breaking waves and easy access in and out of the water. Instructors: All of Brian’s instructors (male and female) are skillfully trained in Hawaiian surf, as well as CPR and First Aid certified. After just one lesson Brian and his staff will help you acquire the skills you need to pursue surfing on your own, with confidence! Instructional Equipment: Soft, easy paddling Sunset™ Longboards will be provided for every student as well as complimentary wetsuits, rashguards, booties, and sunscreen. Prices and Class size: • Private Lesson $165. One on One attention. • Semi Private Lesson $90 per person. 2 or 3 students. • Group Lesson $75 per person. 4 or 5 students. • Customized Multi-day Surf Programs (call for pricing) Surf Guides: We offer private surf guides knowledgeable in Maui's surf breaks to take you to the best surf spots that suit your ability. Guide prices include: transportation, surfboards and all necessary equipment. The price for this service is $300 (half day) or $500 (full day). Board Rentals: We have longboards and short boards. Boards can be rented after class at $10 per hour, or $25 per day (24 hours). Both fiberglass and foam boards available. Strap-on foam surf racks are complimentary for your rental car. Memorabilia: Full color illustrated Soul Surfing T-shirts are available to everyone at $20 each. SSM hats are available at $25 each. Water photography of your surfing is also available on request.
